Spring '13 Women's RTW Trend: White Out
After Fall's onslaught of black, most designers took to white as a palate cleanser-- either as a gateway to brighter colors or as 90% of the collection. Traditionally white is a Spring color. Therefore it's not a huge surprise to see it on the runways. However, a collection of Missoni, Marni, and Emilio Pucci -- all known colorful print houses-- focused around white shows a tide turning in fashion. White is the international color of surrender and peace. Perhaps designers are ceding to the uneasy economic market, as opposed to the strong showing of optimistic yellow last Spring. Either way, it's a welcome respite to the dark Fall collections.
